Learning to swim is both a necessary skill and a rewarding experience. Our committed instructors are trained to ensure they can inspire learning within a structured teaching programme. Our primary focus is to ensure safety and confidence in the water by offering weekly term time lessons or crash courses during the school holidays.
Lessons begin with ‘Duckling’ classes for parent and child from the age of 2+ years which currently run on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
The next stage of lessons start when a child turns 4. We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme. This national syllabus progresses the children from their first splash in Stage 1, to gliding through the water in all four strokes as they reach stage 7.
At the end of the Learn to Swim programme your child will be a confident and efficient swimmer. We offer lessons on Monday and Wednesday from 4.00pm - 7.30pm, as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We also offer Stages 8 - 10 for children who want to continue to develop their swimming technique, fitness, and stamina. Stages 8-10 include learning to dive and turn, introducing some of the competitive elements of swimming ready for children to move into competitive swimming should they choose.
Small Group Swimming is a new addition to our lesson timetable for June 2022. This runs on a Friday from 4.00pm - 6.00pm, with group sizes limited to 3 children. In addition to covering Swim England Learn To Swim Stages 1 - 7, we have a class for Older Beginners and a class for Nervous Beginners. Small Group Swimming lessons are available to book in 6 week courses.
Swimmers are required to attend a FREE 15 minute swimmer assessment in advance to ensure they are placed in the right stage. Complete beginners and adult swimmers do not require an assessment.
